What to expect
Most chemotherapy-related hair loss begins two to four weeks after treatment starts and regrowth typically begins a few months after treatment ends. Your oncology team can tell you what is likely for your specific protocol — always start there.
Your options, honestly
A real-hair wig, fitted privately. A made-to-measure or ready-to-wear human-hair wig restores your look at once. At HEADS in Makati, fittings happen in a discreet private studio, and every bespoke piece is crafted in our own factory — wigs.ph shows real clients, not stock photos.
Scarves, turbans and soft caps. Many patients combine a wig for going out with soft options at home. There is no wrong answer — comfort decides.
A free wig, if cost is a barrier. Through Hair for Hope, donated hair becomes free wigs for cancer patients — in partnership with Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital, UP Manila, ADMU and drives with partners like the Calamba Cancer Center. When should I get a wig if I am starting chemo?
Many patients arrange a wig before or in the first weeks of treatment, so it is ready when shedding begins and can be colour-matched to your own hair. A private fitting at HEADS Makati takes about an hour.
Are free wigs really available for cancer patients in the Philippines?

Will my hair grow back after chemotherapy?
